PM Shah directs to immediately provide relief, rescue and treatment to flood survivors

Kathmandu / Aug 27: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has instructed to speed up rescue operation in flash flood affected areas, arrange free and effective treatment to the injured and immediately provide relief materials to the displaced families.

After returning from an on-site inspection of the flood-affected Bidur area in Nuwakot, PM Shah gave the instructions during a high-level meeting with the chief secretary and secretaries of various ministries at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, informed Prime Minister’s press and research expert Deepa Dahal.

In the meeting, secretaries from ministries directly involved in disaster management, relief, and rescue, including defense, home, finance, foreign affairs, energy, health, and civil aviation had participated.

Prime Minister Shah emphasized that the relief camps built for the displaced must be fully organized and clean.

He gave clear instructions to ensure individual privacy in the camps and emphatically provide women, children, and the elderly with proper respect and security.

He also directed the relevant ministries to immediately work out in an integrated plan to restore roads, electricity, and communication structures damaged by the floods. RSS
