Business fraternity urges Thakur to facilitate environment
Kathmandu / October 11: The representative organizations of the private sectors Saturday called on Chairperson of Terai-Madhes Democratic Party – one of the constituents of agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) – Mahantha Thakur and urged him to enable easy environment for movement by calling off ongoing shutdown.
A delegation comprising representatives of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Confederation of Nepalese Industries and Nepal Chamber of Commerce handed over a memorandum to TMDP Chair at its party office in Bijulibazaar.
They requested TMDP Chair Thakur to ensure citizens right to work by seeking solution to the existing problem through dialogue after withdrawing the ongoing strike and shutdown, said FNCCI Chairperson Pashupati Murarka.
Receiving the memo, Thakur said the party would take decision in response to the demand of the private sector. The private sector has been paying a heavy cost due to ongoing agitation in tarai region and undeclared blockade imposed by India. The economic activities of the country remained almost nil for some time following deadly earthquake of April this year. RSS
