PM Oli directs Nepal Police to be devoted to their responsibility

KP Oli POlice DayKathmandu / October 17: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that Nepal Police is an organisation devoted to the nation, people and human kind and is also guided by law.

At a programme organised on the occasion of 60th Establishment Day of Nepal Police at the Police Headquarters in the capital, Prime Minister Oli directed the Nepal Police to further strengthen and expand it as the organisation free from political interference and directed and operated through the objective of law and responsibility.

He said, “I direct the Nepal Police to carry out works in an independent manner as well as responsible manner without any discrimination.” The Prime Minister Oli said that the Nepal Police have become an example of having gender equality and its image should be further brightened.

PM Oli assured that the government would not leave any stone unturned for the promotion of Nepal Police as well as capacity building and to provide means and resources.

Praising the role of Nepal Police to maintain peace, control crime and deliver justice, PM Oli said that police have established the institution as disciplined and responsible one, not only in Nepal, but also in the globe.

Similarly, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Upendra Kanta Aryal said that police are an integral part of the society in terms of providing security to the society.

On the occasion, kin of those police personnel killed in August 24 incident in Tikapur, Kailali were honoured and provided with monetary assistance collected from police and the state. Likewise, families of the police personnel killed in different incidents in the country were honoured and provided with monetary aid as well.

Also on the occasion, PM Oli garlanded a police monument in the premises of the Nepal Police Headquarters and launched ‘Police Darpan, 2072’ published by police. Likewise, former AIG Anantaram Bhattarai was awarded with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award-2072’ on the occasion. RSS
