Joint Kathmandu Mountain Bike Festival on Nov 20-22
Kathmandu / November 6: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is set to organise ‘Joint Kathmandu Mountain Bike Festival-2015 in upcoming November 20-22′ in Lalitpur.
The event is to be supported by various cycling organisations including Nepal Cycling Association, Fantastic Nepal Holidays, Joint Cycle and Life Cycle Nepal.
Even the foreigners will participate in the competition that will be held in two categories- cross country and downhill. Cross country participants have to complete four kilometers while the participants of downhill to travel two kilometers.
Nepal is natural playground for mountain biking, said Fantastic Holidays’ Bhupenra Shrestha. The event is aimed at making the country known in the international forum through the means of mountain biking.
According to NTB Director Sushil Sharma, the purpose of the event is to encourage foreign tourists to visit Nepal. Nepal Cycling Association’s Vice Chairman Upendra Shamser Rana said Nepal has all-required infrastructure for mountain biking. Nepal has been hosting mountain bike championship since 2007. RSS
