‘Counter fire’ campaign in place to save wildlife

fire in jungleChitwan / March 18: The Chitwan National Park which has been in the world conservation list has placed forest fire control campaign to save wildlife.

The campaign with ‘counter fire’ has been devised keeping in mind the protection of wild species at the onset of dry season, according to the Chitwan National Park sources.

CNP’s Information Officer and Assistant Conservation Officer Surendra Aryal shared the technical employees have been kept stand by mainly for operating ‘counter fire’ in the park. The counter fire is a method to check inferno by igniting fire from opposite direction when the fire does not seem to come under control.

Aryal said that the method is appropriate for the national park as firing in limited area from opposite direction check forest fire. RSS
