National football squad announced for friendly against Malaysia

ANFAKathmandu /March 21: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) today announced the national football squad for the friendly match against Malaysia’s U-22 national team taking place on March 27.

Nepal’s new Head Coach, Gyotoku Koji, made public the name list of 23 members of the national squad at a press conference at ANFA Complex in Saatdobato.

The team comprising a majority of players that helped Nepali football team win gold medal in the SAG Games in India includes three goal keepers, nine defenders, six mid fielders and five forwards.

The goal keepers are Bikesh Kuthu, Bishal Shrestha and Kiran Kumar Limbu whereas Bijaya Dhimal, Biraj Maharjan, Devendra Tamang, Dinesh Rajbanshi, Jitendra Karki, Kamal Shrestha, Man Bahadur Tamang, Rabin Shrestha and Ranjit Dhimal constitute Nepal’s defence line.

In the mid field, Bishal Rai, Heman Gurung, Jagajeet Shrestha, Prakash Buthathoki, Sujal Shrestha and Sunil Bal have been positioned while Bharat Khawas, Bishwas Shrestha, Navayug Shrestha, Ranjan Bista and Suman Lama will look after Nepal’s forward line.

The former Japanese professional player Koji – who took over the reins of the Nepali national football team a month ago – said he is here to give his best to support Nepal’s strides in football. RSS
