Nepal becomes ‘Team Champion’ in International Karate

Kathmandu / June 2: Nepal has become ‘team champion’ after clinching 21 out of 28 gold medals in the First Badoriyo International Karate Championship.

In the championship concluded on Wednesday, India became second with five gold medals while Sri Lanka and Bangladesh secured gold medal each.

Nepal’s Karate players Jogmehar Lama and Garima Giri became best performer on male and female category, respectively. Both secured gold and silver medal each for Nepal.

The championship was held at Yati Party Palace in Basundhara, Kathmandu.

Member-Secretary of National Sports Council Keshab Kumar Bista, Nepal Karate Federation Chaiperson Dawa Gurung, General Secretary Hari Sharan KC and main coach of organizing body, among others, gave away awards to the winners. RSS
