12 fake doctors arrested from Parsa and Chitwan
Parsa / June 17: Yet again, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested nine doctors from Birgunj for possessing fake educational certificates.
A team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Firoj Basnet, from Kathmandu on Friday arrested three fake doctors from Birgunj-based Narayani Sun-Regional Hospital, four from National Medical College and two from private clinic.
The quacks were Kushraj Giri, Saroj Kumar Singh, and Pannalal Patel of Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital, while Irsadul Haque, Mahommad Rahulla, Nimesh Pal and Ram Kumar Pradhan of National Medical College and Dinesh Sah and Arun Kumar Gupta from different private clinics, according to the District Police Office.
Police said that they were arrested to carry out investigation into the complaints filed against them at CIB. All the arrested phony doctors have been sent to Kathmandu for further investigation, said Superintendent of Police, Rajubabu Shrestha.
Meanwhile, patients have been deprived of services, for all doctors and medical staffs of Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital and National Medical College gathered at the District Police Office protesting the arrests of doctors.
Similarly, Chitwan police have arrested three doctors for possessing fake educational certificates.
The quacks were Rajani Agrawal, Sunil Acharya and Rajan Puri. A joint monitoring team of the Central Investigation Bureau and District Police Office arrested Agrawal and Acharya from Pragati Polytechnic of Bharatpur-10 while Puri from a camp run at Palungtar of Gorkha district, said Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar.
The CIB would carry out further investigation into the case, added Kunwar. RSS
