2362 children from Dhading affected by quake: Report

Dhading / June 21: The total 2362 children from Dhading district were affected by the earthquakes in April 25 and May 12, 2015, said a report by the emergency project run by the District Child Welfare Committee.

The report made public at a programme to review its report on the status of children affected by the devastating quake said that of the affected children, status of 2009 is at risk, while the remaining 353 were separated from their families.

The report said that of the total 681 who lost their lives to the quake, 241 were children (123 boys and 118 girls). Likewise, of a total of 1218 who sustained injures, 231 were children (112 boys and 119 girls).

Of the total affected children, 327 received Rs 4,000 each in relief under family protection assistance, while 858 got Rs 5,000 each under academic assistance, the report said. RSS
