Women cricketers head to Thailand to play Asia Cup Cricket tournament

CANKathmandu / Nov 23: The national women’s cricket team left here Wednesday for Thailand to participate in the Asia Cup Cricket Championship to be held there.

The Nepali team, under the captaincy of Bina Chhetri, was seen off by National Sports Council member secretary Keshav Kumar Bista. On the occasion, Bista wished the team every success.

Nepal was selected in the Asia Cup qualifying tournament held in Hong Kong two months back. Nepal clinched the second position in this tournament.

The championship is organised by the Asian Cricket Council and will begin from November 26.

Nepal will take on Pakistan on Saturday in the opening match. It will meet Sri Lanka in its second match on November 28. Similarly, it will play against Bangladesh on November 29, Thailand on December 1 and India on December 2. RSS
