Let not create psychological fear among customers-Supply Minister

deepak-boharaKathmandu / Dec 20: Minister for Commerce and Supplies Deepak Bohora has expressed concern over the act of imposing psychological fear among Nepali cooking gas users by mounting unnecessary pressure.

Addressing the 17th anniversary of Nepal LP Gas Entrepreneurs Association on Tuesday, he called on entrepreneurs to settle all the problems through discussion and dialogue.

Minster Bohora noted that the government was committed to ensure smooth arrangement of supplies and expressed government’s readiness to work with the Association for the welfare of consumers at large.

The Minister also warned the entrepreneurs not to ignore the consumers who went to the extent of buying a cylinder for exorbitant price (Rs 10,000) during the time of crisis and also threw an idea of merger between the industries.

Also speaking on the occasion, lawmaker Ananta Prasad Poudel said that the parliamentary committee should work for the welfare of gas entrepreneurs and consumers.

Nepal Oil Corporation’s Executive Director Gopal bahadur Khadka pledged to support the smooth supply of cooking gas by collaborating with the LP Gas Bottling Plants.

Chairperson of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Rajesh Kaji Shrestha demanded that the government take necessary decisions to end syndicate prevalent in cooking gas supply.

Association chairperson Shiva Prasad Ghimire drew the government’s attention towards the difficult situation the consumers will be facing if gas supply was not made possible using Nepali gas bullet.

Currently 55 LP Gas Bottling Plants are supplying gas through 7.7 million cylinders in Nepal. Though Nepali people have been using LP gas for the past 42 years, the gas entrepreneurs have merely completed 16 years of their organized presence in the sector. RSS
