Different committees formed to attract foreign investment
Kathmandu / March 6: The Industry Ministry has formed four committees to address the issues raised by investors during the Nepal Investment Summit. The two-day Summit was held in Kathmandu from March 2 to 3.
Organising a press conference at the Ministry on Monday, Industry Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi shared that a 21-member ‘High-Level Committee related to Foreign Investment’ under his chairmanship has been forced to realize the commitments expressed by foreign investors in the Investment Summit. The High-Level Committee also comprises different ministers and secretaries.
Similarly, a sub-committee related to foreign investment policy has been formed under the coordination of the member looking after industry in the National Planning Commission.
Likewise, a sub-committee related to foreign investment promotion under coordination of Secretary of the industry Ministry, Shanker Prasad Koirala and another sub-committee related to foreign investment project has been formed under the coordination of Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Board.
On the occasion, Minister Joshi said that process has been initiated to forward the implementation of the one-door policy as soon as possible to make investment promotion easier.
Expressing gratitude to those expressing their willingness to invest in Nepal during the Investment Summit, Minister Joshi said that the committee and sub-committees formed have already started to work from today itself to bring in foreign investment as soon as possible through continuous coordination with investors.
