Government slashes fuel prices
Kathmandu / July 2: The government has slashed the prices of petroleum products on Sunday. The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), the state oil monopoly, has reduced the prices of petrol, kerosene and diesel by Rs 2.
With the new price adjustment in the petroleum products, now the petrol is available for Rs 98 per liter while the kerosene and diesel is available for Rs 74 per liter each.
Similarly, the government has also reduced the prices of air turbine fuel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
According to Sitaram Pokharel, spokesperson of NOC, the price of LPG has been reduced by Rs 25 per cylinder while the turbine fuel (domestic) has been reduced by Rs 2 and by Rs 4 (international) per liter.
With the price reduction, the LPG gas is now available for Rs 1,350 while the air turbine fuel for Rs 84 per liter (domestic) and Rs 73 (international).
Earlier, the price of LPG was Rs 1,375 per cylinder and air turbine fuel Rs 86 (domestic) and 77 per liter (international) respectively.
NOC made adjustment in the price of petroleum products in Nepal after the their prices went down in the international market. The new price will be effective from Monday.
