Eighth-grader Anugya comes up with poetry collection
Kathmandu / July 18: Anugya Nepal, an eighth-grader at the Ambition Academy in Kathmandu, has come up with an anthology of poetry, titled ‘hami garna sakchau’ (we can do).
Nepalese Society for Children Literature Chairman Tej Prakash Shrestha, poet Ram Prasad Gyawali and other writers and academicians unveiled the poetry collection amidst a program organized in the school premises.
The collection includes 16 poems on various topics ranging from her experience about earthquake to a child’s perspectives towards education, culture and customs.
Speaking at the unveiling program, NSCL Chairman Shrestha said that 13-year old Anugya not only showcased her talents but also showed her potential for Nepali literature through the poetry collection.
Poet Gyawali praised Anugya for her skill on writing metrical stanzas with conscious choices of subject matters while another child writer Bigyata Karki, also a friend of Anugya, said that she enjoyed reading Anugya’s poetry.
