Senior neurosurgeon Devkota admitted to Neuro Hospital
Kathmandu / May 1: Senior neurosurgeon Dr Upendra Devkota, who returned home five months after undergoing treatment in London, has been admitted to the Basbari-based Neuro Hospital.
The hospital has not disclosed Devkota’s ailment yet but said his treatment is going on.
Dr Devkota’s health condition was normal when he returned Nepal on Saturday, doctors involved in his treatment said.
He was undergoing treatment at the King’s College Hospital, Denmark Hill, London, for the past five months.
Devkota was appointed as the Minister for Health, Science and Technology during the regime of Gyanendra Shah in 2002.
He is the founder of the first neurological trauma unit in Bir Hospital.
Dr Devkota is also the founder of the National Institute of Neurological and Allied Sciences, also known as the Neuro Hospital, Bansbari.
