RPP-Democratic demands immediate withdrawal of tax, excise duty
Kathmandu, Aug 1: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Democratic), Pashupati Shumsher Rana, has demanded the government to immediately withdraw the tax and excise duty imposed on various public services.
During a protest rally organized by his party at Maitighar Mandala on Wednesday, Chairman Rana said people were hit hard with increase of various taxes from local to central levels. Although the government had got mandate for development, prosperity, peace and good governance, it was not sensitive towards it, according to him.
He urged the government to be serious on people’s daily life by curbing price hike and corruption.
On the occasion, Vice-Chairmen of the party, Deepak Bohara and Keshar Bahadur Bista, accused the government of failing to ensure peace and security and good governance. They also suggested the party not to interfere with the constitutional bodies.
General Secretary Rajaram Shrestha informed that the party organization would be strengthened by holding conferences in provincial level.
Other leaders of the party urged the government to curb the price hike. (RSS)
