Nepal seals victory with 1 run in the last ball of the game; Kami declared Player of the Match
Kathmandu, Aug 3: Nepal has won the second ODI match with 1 run and levels the series with the Netherlands, held at Amstelveen on Friday. Sompal Kami has been declared as the Man of the Game.
This is the first ever ODI win for the Nepali National Cricket Team
The Netherlands at one stage were 185-9 and the last wicket partnership between Klassen and Meekeren took the game to the last ball. The Dutch required 2 runs off the last ball. But, Klassen was run out by the Nepalese skipper Paras Khadka who bowled the decisive final over.
Wesley Barresi scored 71 runs for the Netherlands.
The Nepali side bowled very well. Sandip Lamichhane took 3 wickets while Lalit Bhandari took 2 wickets.
Earlier, with the contribution of 61 runs of Sompal Kami, Nepal had set a target of 217 runs for the Dutch team. Nepal was elected to bat first after winning the toss. Nepal played first innings losing all wickets.
Kami glorified in the match with his five fours and three sixes off 46 balls. Likewise, captain Paras Khadka scored 51 runs off 69 balls including six fours and two sixes before returning to the pavilion.
Fred Klassen took three wickets for the Dutch team giving away 38 runs whereas Micheal Rippon and Pieter Seelar picked two wickets each giving away 46 and 50 runs respectively.
The day and the match will be remembered for a very long time as it has created history for the Nepali National Cricket Team and whole Nepal. The Republica
