Good Samaritan foreigners feted in Pokhara

Tourist Bhai TikaPokhara / Nov 10: As many as 30 foreigners from various countries were honored at Aananda Jyoti Secondary School at Begnas in Pokhara metropolitan city in Kaski district today.

The students and teachers alike in the School had offered garland and vermillion powder to them in recognition of their support of the School.

The event, attended by people’s representatives, local representatives and parents of the students, welcomed the foreigners from the USA, the UK, Kosovo and Lebanon among others who arrived at the school to take part in the Prayer Breakfast, an annual event marked by a series of meetings, luncheons and dinners, aimed at promoting friendship, good will and unity.

On the occasion, Former Chief Executive Officer of the American Express, Ben Smith, had extended educational aid of USD for students of the School, according to Padma Raj Poudel, Prayer-Breakfast Event coordinator and a local entrepreneur.

House of Representatives member Khagaraj Adhikari called for cooperation from one and all for expediting the development works in the locality.

Stating that unity and good will had taught us many lessons, Adhikari asserted that the government was effortful to ensure prosperity through development.

School principal, Sukra Raj Adhikari and teacher Taranath Poudel among others expressed their confidence that the foreign educational aid would help improve the educational standard in the school. RSS
