NRNA decides to hold its ninth global conference in October 2019

Kathmandu / Jan 12: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA)—the umbrella network of the diaspora community—has decided to hold its ninth global conference in October 2019 in Kathmandu.

A meeting of the NRNA International Coordination Committee held in the capital on Friday decided to hold the global conference from October 13 to 16. Reviewing the activities carried out by the NRNA in the past one year, the meeting also dwelled on the organization’s future strategies.

Aside from discussing the issue of convening the upcoming NRNA global conference, the meeting also dwelled on the NRNA-supported ongoing projects being executed in Nepal.

The meeting has decided to handover the much-awaited integrated settlement for earthquake-hit people at Laprak in Gorkha district by April 25, 2019, which is being built at the financial support of the NRNA.

The meeting dwelled on an ongoing project to illuminate the Janaki Temple and its premise with modern lighting equipment in Janakpurdham.

The NRNA meeting also decided to join hands with the Nepal government in the upcoming Nepal Investment Summit to be held in upcoming March.

In its future strategies, the NRNA also decided to give concrete shape to its vision of bringing USD 100 million investment to Nepal from the Nepal community residing in across the globe. The organization has also decided to chalk out strategies to pour investment to Nepal in the field of hydropower, electrification, human resource development and modernization of agriculture among others.
