CIAA arrrests Assistant Registrar Panthi for taking bribes of Rs 1 lakh

CIAAKathmandu / Jan 15: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested Assistant Registrar of Company Registrar Office, Kathmandu Geeta Kumari Panthi on the charge of taking bribes of Rs 100,000 from a service seeker, on Tuesday.

Spokesperson at the CIAA Rameshwor Dangal said that a team deployed from the anti-graft body arrested Panthi and her daughter from the parking area at a private bank in Kathmandu Municipality-14. The anti-graft body team has seized the bribed money from the duo.

According to the CIAA, the assistant registrar has been accused of taking bribes from the service seeker on the pretext of slashing tax amount for a private school.

The CIAA has started probe taking the duo into custody, according to Spokesperson Dangal.
