150 new cases of COVID-19 and three fatalities in 24 hours

Kathmandu / Mar. 22: The Ministry of Health and Population on Monday confirmed 150 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation’s novel coronavirus tally to 276,056.

“In 4,472 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 150 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2,” informed the Ministry of Health and Population in the regular press briefing.

Currently, there are 1,017 active cases of COVID-19 and a total of 51 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad are placed in quarantine across the nation.

Meanwhile, 99 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 272,020 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98.5 per cent.

Moreover, three people succumbed to the virus infection in the last 24 hours, the COVID-19 death toll is currently at 3,019.
