Election of President and Vice President on Wednesday

President HouseKathmandu / October 24: The date of elections for the President and Vice President is scheduled to be held on October 28 in the Legislature-Parliament.

In a Legislature-Parliament meeting on Saturday, Speaker Onsari Gharti said that elections to the posts would be held based on consensus by 16:30 pm on October 25 as per the Article 297 (2) of Constitution of Nepal, 2072 BS and the date has been fixed for 11:00 am on October 28 according to the Article 297 (3) of the constitution if consensus was not forged.

Likewise, General Secretary of Legislature-Parliament Manohar Prasad Bhattarai has been named as the Election Officer for the same.

Speaker Gharti has also directed the Election Officer to make the election schedule public by today itself. Earlier, Speaker Gharti had read out a letter received from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in regard to the formation of Council of Ministers and ministers’ portfolio division.
