Special rights to Kailali-Kanchanpur Tharus thru commission: DPM Rawal

Bhim RawalKanchanpur / November 22: Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Bhim Rawal has said the demands raised by the Tharu communities from Kailali and Kanchanpur districts would be met through the formation of a commission.

Also the Vice-Chairman of the CPN-UML, DPM Rawal said this while orienting party cadres on new constitution here Sunday.

The UML had involved most of the indigenous Tharu people in the orientation on the achievements of the new constitution.

“New constitution has provided rights to all Madhesi, indigenous, Tharu, Dalit and others, so all need to abide by the constitution,” he said, adding, the Tharu community from Kailali and Kanchanpur would be provided special rights through the formation of a commission.

The DPM accused the Madhesi political parties of fueling terror in the name of rights thereby jeopardizing nationality and social harmony. “It’s immoral to wage agitation by violating people’s right to food.”

According to him, the criminal activities are addressed through legal measures while political matters through dialogue. Madhesis’ agitation was more tyrannical than war, he commented.

The DPM urged the agitating Madhesi parties to immediately join the dialogue.

He further argued that government obviously uses force against the activities that put the nationality and social harmony in peril. RSS
