‘Education policy needs to be changed ‘

Bhim RawalHetauda / February 11: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Bhim Bahadur Rawal has spoken of the need of revising the education policy as per the need of time.

Inaugurating the 19th National Council Meet of Nepal National Teachers’ Association in Hetauda Thursday, Rawal expressed his hope that all language and culture will get an equal forum to flourish in federal Nepal.

Underlining the need of totally depoliticizing the education sector, he sought transparent and responsible role of teachers in producing competent human resources.

He further said all political parties should work in unity to safeguard nationality and strengthen democracy, being accountable to the people which would ultimately help promote human rights and institutionalise republic democracy.

On the occasion, Education Minister Girirajmani Pokhrel said an education policy that gives a special focus on self-reliance is the priority of the government. He urged teachers to always get confined by academic disciplines.
