Machhindra secure KP Oli Cup title again

Kathmandu / March 03: Machhindra FC clinched their third consecutive KP Oli Cup title on Monday after defeating Tribhuvan Army Club 2-0 in the final at Dasharath Stadium.
The defending champions took the lead in the 29th minute through an own goal by Army’s Bimal Pandey. In an attempt to clear Sanish Shrestha’s shot, Pandey accidentally deflected the ball into his own net.
Machhindra doubled their lead in the 72nd minute when Stephan Jali found the back of the net, sealing the victory. Despite efforts to mount a comeback, Army struggled to break through Machhindra’s defensive line.
Machhindra had reached the final by defeating KP Oli FC in the semi-finals. Earlier in the tournament, they overcame Bhutan’s Transport United.
With this victory, Machhindra completed a hat-trick of KP Oli Cup titles, solidifying their dominance in the competition.
