NC 15th General Convention: Ward-level conventions to begin September 19

Kathmandu / Sept. 8: The ward-level conventions for the 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) are scheduled to begin on September 19.
The NC had postponed the ward conventions, originally scheduled to start on September 9, following the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Prem Bahadur Khadka, coordinator of the NC Election Committee, said the ward-level conventions will be held on September 19 and 20.
The conventions will be held in 6,743 wards across the country, where regional convention representatives will be elected.
According to Khadka, conventions at the rural municipality, municipality, sub-metropolitan city and metropolitan city levels will be held on September 23. Provincial Assembly regional conventions and House of Representatives constituency-level conventions are scheduled for September 26.
The NC’s central general convention will be held in Kathmandu from October 2 to 5, Khadka said.
For the flood-affected districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading, the conventions will be conducted in coordination between the designated election officers and the party’s local-level structures, he said.
The remaining conventions of the Nepal Public Relations Committee are scheduled to be completed by September 26.Discover Top Destinations
