Consumers can exchange gas cylinders of any brand at same price: Minister Yadav

Kathmandu / Sept. 9: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gauri Kumari Yadav has directed concerned authorities to ensure the smooth supply of cooking gas amid a shortage in the market.

Yadav has instructed authorities to allow consumers to exchange cylinders of one gas company for those of another company and receive gas at the same price.

According to her secretariat, the arrangement will apply within the Kathmandu Valley. If a consumer is unable to obtain a cylinder of a particular company, they will be allowed to exchange it for a cylinder from another company at the same price.

Yadav also warned that action would be taken against companies or others found causing unnecessary inconvenience to consumers, creating artificial shortages or operating contrary to government directives.
