RSP Secretariat Publicizes Seven Decisions (With Full Text)

Kathmandu / Sept. 20: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has made public seven decisions taken by its Secretariat meeting held on Sunday.

The decisions are as follows:

  1. Bhotekoshi disaster management and relief: Party officials and members serving in the government briefed the Secretariat on various aspects of the search, rescue, relief distribution, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts following the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi area. The meeting urged the Government of Nepal to expedite DNA testing of those who lost their lives in the floods but whose bodies have not yet been identified. It also called for the swift completion of the legal process to issue death certificates, with the consent of families, in cases involving people who have gone missing and whose families have lost hope of finding them, so that affected families can receive relief and other available benefits.
  2. Nepal’s participation in the United Nations General Assembly: The meeting issued policy guidance to the delegation led by Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, among others, which is preparing to attend the United Nations General Assembly. The delegation has been directed to focus its preparations and engagements on Nepal’s multifaceted concerns related to the Bhotekoshi disaster, the changing political situation, prosperity, international relations and Nepal’s role on the global stage.
  3. Madhesh Province performance audit: Party co-General Secretary and coordinator Hari Dhakal presented a preliminary report on the organizational situation and performance audit of the party’s Madhesh Province. The meeting decided to take further strategic steps after receiving the detailed report.
  4. Appointments: As part of completing the party’s Central Disciplinary Commission, the following individuals have been appointed as commission members: Advocate Harichandra Bhattarai
    Advocate Sushila Sinkhada
    Ram Chandra Karki
    Advocate Shanta Thapa
    Advocate Nandan Timilsina
    Advocate Rohan Bohju
    Advocate Bhavindra Rai
    Advocate Santosh Acharya
    Advocate Santosh Bisunkhe
    Advocate Shweta Kumari

Similarly, Gyanendra Malla has been appointed Deputy Head of the Youth, Sports and Empowerment Department.

Mahesh Bhatt, Tashi Lajom and Hikmat Jung Karki have been appointed members of the International Relations and Diplomatic Department.

Jairam Gurung and Raj Kumar Shrestha have been appointed members of the Public Service and Public Grievance Management Department.

  1. Oath of office and confidentiality: Newly nominated Secretariat member Biraj Bhakta Shrestha and co-spokesperson Surendra Chaudhary took their oath of office and confidentiality before the party chairperson during the meeting.
  2. Resumption of party activities:The meeting decided to resume all official party activities that had been suspended as the party focused on the national mourning and relief efforts following the Bhotekoshi disaster.

Accordingly, organizational and public outreach activities, including the “Hami Sunchhau” (We Listen) Campaign, the “Citizen Policy and Leadership” Campaign, and the process of selecting candidates for local-level elections, will now be resumed without delay.

  1. Briefing on the Finance Minister’s visit to India: Party Vice Chair and Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle briefed the Secretariat in detail on his recent visit to India, including his meetings and discussions on economic diplomacy during the visit.
