Hearing on former IGP Karki’s writ petition scheduled for Nov 16

Kathmandu / Nov 6: A hearing has been scheduled for November 16 on a writ petition filed by former Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki at the Supreme Court.

The writ petition, registered at the Supreme Court on Friday, has been listed for a hearing on November 16.

Karki had filed the petition on Thursday, seeking reinstatement after claiming that the government had unlawfully removed him from his position. However, the petition was not registered on Thursday as the court needed additional time to examine it.

Normally, hearings are scheduled from the day after a writ petition is registered. However, the hearing was scheduled for after the Tihar holidays, as the court will remain closed from Saturday until Wednesday, November 11.

The government removed Karki from the post of Inspector General of Police and appointed him as the Prime Minister’s security adviser.
