Agriculture and Forestry University commences Ph.D program

Agriculture UniversityChitwan / November 3: The Agriculture and Forestry University, Rampur, has started Ph.D course in forestry too.

Deputy Director of Research and Information Directorate of the University, Dr Balram Bhatta, said that the Ph.D course in forestry has been commenced from this academic year in Forestry Campus situated in Hetauda.

The University established some five years ago was running Ph.D degree only in agriculture science and veterinary science.

Registrar of the University, Prof Dr Surya Kanta Ghimire, said that the Ph.D course was advanced as per the target to run the Ph.D classes in four years of the University’s establishment.

Prior to this, most of the students used to fly abroad to earn their Ph.D for lack of the doctorate study in the country.

Deputy Director Bhatta said that relevance of the Ph.D programme has increased for its practical research in the country. He added that the University has utilized the professors and students for the research activities.

Registrar Ghimire said that preparations have been upped to launch classes on environment science and bio-diversity too. RSS
