Motion of public importance on Dr KC’s demands registered
Kathmandu / July 21: A motion of public importance has been registered at the Legislature-Parliament with the demand of addressing the issues raised by agitating Dr Govind KC.
Nepali Congress lawmakers Gagan Kumar Thapa tabled the motion seconded by Dhanraj Gurung, and CPN (Maoist-Centre) lawmaker Shyam Shrestha on Thursday.
In the proposal, the lawmakers drew the parliament’s attention to take initiative to save the life of agitating Dr KC, who has been staging a fast-unto-death, demanding reforms in the medical education sector by curbing corruption and malfeasance.
They underscored that the government should be made responsible towards parliament; as it has not implemented the agreements made with Dr KC repeatedly.
Even the demands in addition to the medical sector reforms were related directly to the parliament. So, it was imperative to discuss it in the parliament.
The discussion was also essential on the status of the implementation of the report submitted by the Kedarbhakta Mathema-led taskforce in this regard. RSS
