Wanna remember your late parents? Mahottari man has an idea
Gopal Prasad Baral / Mahottari, Dec 22: How would you like to remember your late parents? Well, there could be different ways of remembering them. But Mannu Kumar Sah of Belgachhi village in the district is doing this by purchasing newspapers and distributing them to locals to read.
He has a purpose behind his action. He is on a drive to educate and make local people aware of what is happening across the country and around the world through news.
“Well-off people spend a large portion of money in the name of remembering their late parents. I have initiated a small effort to educate the locals by distributing them newspapers daily to read, in memory of my late father,” said Sah, also chairman of Yuwa Sahayogi Samaj, Belgachhi, a local organisation working for social and educational awareness.
Eventually, his effort is bearing fruit and receiving praises from local people for the noble cause in a village that is backward in terms of education and social awareness.
Besides, following suit, the Samaj has also managed various daily and weekly newspapers for the villagers to read.
Locals who would otherwise only confined to work, spare some time for reading newspapers these days.
“Works of Sah and the Samaj are exemplary. Unlike in the past, villagers instantly get to know of what is happening across the country and around the world through newspapers,” said social campaigner Min Rahapal.
Sah and the Samaj’s exemplary works have given a message that one does not need enough money to carry out good deeds. Others should follow suit, said local peace committee coordinator Manju Bishwokarma. RSS
