Election overview: UML victorious in 64 federal constituencies, leading in 15
Kathmandu / Dec 10: The CPN-UML has emerged victorious in 64 federal constituencies and is leading in 15 constituencies so far. The party has won the election in 123 provincial constituencies and is leading in 28 provincial constituencies.
Similarly, the CPN (Maoist Centre) has won in 24 federal constituencies and is leading in 10 federal constituencies. The party has emerged victorious in 56 provincial constituencies and is leading in 14 constituencies.
Likewise, the Nepali Congress (NC) has won in 13 federal constituencies and is leading in 10 constituencies. The party has been elected in 31 provincial constituencies and is leading in 12 constituencies.
Vote counting under FPTP of 16 districts concludes
Meanwhile, vote counting of the first-past-the-post election under the House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies of 16 districts has been concluded so far.
The elections to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies were held in two rounds—November 26 and December 7.
According to the Information System Management Section of the Election Commission, out of 165 constituencies under the House of Representatives, vote counting of 74 constituencies has concluded. Seventy-three male and one female have been elected as the member of the House of Representatives.
Similarly, out of 330 constituencies towards Provincial Assemblies, vote counting of 161 constituencies has so far concluded. Of them, 153 male and eight female have been elected as the member of Provincial Assemblies.
Likewise, out of the districts, where first round of election was held, vote counting under the proportional election system of Rasuwa, Myagdi, Manang, Mustang, East Rukum, Dolpa, Bajura and Bajhang concluded while vote counting of remaining eight districts is underway, according to EC.
Vote counting of Syangja district, which was not carried out following the dispute among political parties, has begun from 10:30 am today. RSS
