132 Police Inspectors  graduate on 158th graduation ceremony

police logoKathmandu / September 30: The graduation ceremony of 158th basic training imparted to police inspectors concluded at National Police Training Academy on Wednesday with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bamdev Gautam as the chief guest.

On the occasion, Home Minister Gautam stressed the need of building people-responsive police force provided it is one of the main state representing agencies and asserted that the police with effective leadership and capacity is the need of the hour.

Noting that the security personnel have been facing additional challenges following the promulgation of a new constitution, he said the police organization is capable to check unlawful activities taking place by misusing genuine demands.

On the occasion, the Home Minister gave away awards to the best trainees and trainers. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Upendra Kanta Aryal directed the graduate inspectors to be ready to explore new opportunities and overcome challenges as a primary mechanism to listen to the grievances of the people.

He further underscored the need for the police force to move ahead with professional values and healthy competition while the country has already entered the federal structures.

Some 132 Police Inspectors had completed the training that kicked off on mid-April 2014 Police Inspector Kamal Belbase stood the best performer followed by Ranjan Awa (second) and Bikas Bam (third) in the training.

The Police officers graduated at a time when the country is passing through very critical juncture. According to reports police personnel have been doing their duty for more than 12 hours due to recent unrest in different parts of the country. (RSS)
