Government to hold talks with UDMF tomorrow

government logoKathmandu / October 5: The government is holding talks with the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) on Tuesday.

The meeting on Monday of a team formed by the Front to arrange talks with the government ended with the decision to this end.

A meeting between the government and Front has been scheduled for 10:00 am at a hall of the State Affairs Committee, Front talks team member Laxman Lal Karna, who is co-chair of Sadbhawana Party said. The UDMF is sitting for the talks with the government with a charter of 35 points demand.

The Front is expected to raise the issues relating to delineation of federal provinces, proportional inclusive representation, determination of electoral constituency on the basis of population, citizenship, language and access to judicial system. The Front on Sunday constituted a four-member talks team to sit for talks with the government. It is on the warpath in the Tarai-Madhes since the past 51 days, expressing dissatisfaction over the contents of the new constitution. RSS
