Tourists offered Bhaitika in Pokhara
Pokhara / November 13: Not only Nepali people, tourists visiting Nepal also celebrated Bhaitika, the festival of lights celebrated wishing long life and prosperity of brothers.
A total of 25 tourists of various nationalities were offered tika today on the occasion of Bhaitika, the fifth and the last day of Tihar.
Organized by the Western Hotel Association, Pokhara at Butterfly Foundation at the Lakeside in Pokhara, tika was offered to foreigners visiting Pokhara as a part of the ninth edition of Bhaitika Festival.
Founding President of the Association, Govinda Pahari believed that the Festival helps revive tourism in the country hit hard by the April 25 earthquake and its repercussions as well the recent border blockade imposed by India on Nepal.
According to him, tourists from China, Switzerland, Belgium, Canada, the USA, Netherland, Austria and France among others countries received tika from the orphan children at Rembo Children Homes in Pokhara. The children offered Selroti (a special bread) and various assorted nuts to the tourists. RSS
