KCC launches KCC Media Journal
Kathmandu / December 5: First edition of ‘KCC Media Journal’ featuring contents of journalism published by the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Kantipur City College (KCC) has been launched amid a function here in the Capital today.
Edited by KCC lecturer Yek Raj Pathak, also executive editor of Rastriya Samachar Samiti and launched by Prof. Dr Ghanshyam Lal Das, vice chancellor of the Purbanchal University, the book contains various nine research articles related to journalism including responsibility of journalism, communication management, development journalism, community radio, right to information and social media among others.
Speaking at the event, VC Das viewed that the book will help in linking existing educational system with investigative and practical one.
Reviewing the book, Prof. Dr Mahendra Singh said that the journal may help hold Nepali journalism more responsible for the society and make it investigative.
On the occasion, Professor of mass communication Ram Krishna Regmi and Chiranjivi Khanal were of the view that such publications should be issued time and again in the future to make journalism more investigative.
Similarly, Dr Mahendra Bista, President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, KCC chairperson Suman Katawal, chief Rabi Shrestha and Prof Hemanta Shamsher Rana also spoke at the event. RSS
