Karnali girl champion of Hong Kong MSIG Lantau vertical trail

trail raceJumla / December 6: Bishnumaya Budha of remote Khopri village of Malikathanta-9 of Jumla has made the country proud winning the title of MSIG Lantau 5 Kilometers Vertical Trail Running and Hiking Tournament held in Hong Kong.

She clocked 51 minutes 50 seconds to win the race. With this, she bagged 6,000 Hong Kong dollars. Participants from France, Kenya and Hong Kong finished the tournament securing second, third and fourth positions, respectively, said Karnali Sports Club Chair Saroj Shahi.

Similarly, Budha ended the 50 Kilometers MSIG Lantau Running Competition held Saturday securing the fourth position and bagged 1,000 Hong Kong dollars.

Budha’s international achievement in her maiden attempt is really a matter of pride for the nation, said Shahi. Nepal Trail Running supported her to participate in the MSIG Lantau Running Tournament. She is being coached by marathon runner Hari Bahadur Rokaya who is known as snow leopard of Karnali. RSS
