Stepping Up for Quality Education

Teach for NepalKathmandu / December 18: Join the annual Teach for Nepal Walkathon to show your commitment for quality education for every child across the nation and to end education inequality. The charity event is to be held next Saturday on December 26 and will start and end at Bhrikuti Mandap.

The 2015 Walkathon encourages all participants to raise Rs 1,000 for the cause or to donate the amount in advance. Participants will walk for five kilometers in solidarity with schoolchildren who attend public schools in rural areas and are forced to walk for four to six hours each day just to receive education. But despite that, the quality of education they receive has much to be desired.

Adding more fun to the event will be musical performances by the Axe Band as well some students at the end of the walk.

Teach for Nepal will utilize the funds raised for the schoolchildren it works with. Registrations will begin at 10 AM the same day. (Source: Myrepublica)
