Nepal defeated in AFC U-14 Girls’ Regional Championship

SAFF ChampionshipKathmandu / December 20: Nepal went down 0-1 to Bangladesh in the final of AFC U-14 Girls’ Regional Championship 2015. The match was held at Nepal Army Physical Centre in Lagankhel in Lalitpur today.

Marji Sopana of Bangaldesh scored the only goal of the match in the first half of the 16th minute, to take home the title. Although the final match was scheduled on April 25, 2015, it was cancelled due to the massive earthquake that jolted Nepal the same day.

Earlier, Nepal had defeated India 1-0 in the first semi final, while Bangladesh defeated Iran 2-0 in the second semi final.

Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran, Maldives and Sri Lanka had participated in the match. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Minister for Youth and Sports Satya Narayan Mandal gave away the trophy, medals and prizes to the winner and first and second teams. RSS
