Pokharel sees no need for sovereign Nepal to ask foreign countries to write constitution

Ishwor PokharelSunsari / December 22: CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel today said that there was no any need for sovereign Nepal to ask any neighbouring or foreign countries to write constitution from the people-elected Constituent Assembly.

Speaking at a programme organised by Press Chautari Nepal, Itahari, Pokharel said that it was not even necessary for our neighbour India to comment on Nepal’s constitution as well.

“Constitution is not complete itself and it cannot address concerns of all,” he said, adding that the document would be amended with time and as per the need.

In a different context, UML leader Pokharel said that it was weakness of Nepalis to fail build a network needed to bridge the gap between Nepal and India.

“It was necessary for us to review our past to become self-reliant and self-dignified. It is a lesson for both Nepal and India to treat each other in a balanced and respectful way,” he said.
