Constitution has empowered all Nepalis: PM Oli

PM OliKathmandu / January 2: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Saturday said the new constitution has empowered all Nepalis with rights, so time has come for all Nepalis to be united for country’s development.

At a model house designing competition organized by Nepal Engineers’ Association in view of the reconstructions of demolished houses in villages after the earthquakes, the PM said the country can’t remain stagnant for long time, so unity among all is essential to advance it.

On a different note, he said the earthquake affected areas are the priorities of the government, so government activities would focus on the people who braved the devastating earthquakes.

The PM said engineers are the most needed persons in the reconstructions, so they would be taken together by the government to accelerate reconstruction campaign across the country.

“I request all not to be disheartened; we need courage and confidence to cope up the adversity,” he said, adding that national experts would be prioritized as the consultants.

On the occasion, Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology, Professor Dr Jivraj Pokhrel, said the designs of the houses in competition were picked best on the basis of convenience, strength and beauty.

Chairperson of the organizing body, Dhrubraj Thapa, said the local resources, tradition, culture and originality were kept into account while preparing the model house designs. The UNDP has provided Rs 1.7 million for the prize RSS
