Nepal’s football team announced for Bangabandhu Gold Cup

ANFAKathmandu / January 4: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Monday announced the names of the players selected for Bangabandhu Gold Cup to start this month in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

The 33-member team consists of three goal keepers, seven defenders, nine mid-fielders and four strikers. The goal keepers are Elan Neupane, Amrit Chaudhary and Bikash Kuthu while Aditya Chaudhary, Ananta Tamang, Biraj Maharjan, Devendra Tamang, Kamal Shrestha, Rabin Shrestha and Man Bahadur Tamang will oversee the team’s defense.

In mid-field Anjan Bista, Bikram Lama, Bishal Rai, Heman Gurung, Jagajit Shrestha, Jungbu Sherpa, Prakash Budhathoki, Sunil Bal and Tej Tamang have been selected while Bimal Gharti Magar, Navayug Shrestha, Ranjan Bista and Suman Lama are strikers.

Bal Gopal Maharjan will be coaching the team while Upendra Man Singh will remain as trainer in goal keeping. Birat Jung Shahi will be the manager of the team.

Nepal has been drawn into the group including Malaysia, host Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Nepal will play its first match against Malaysia on January 9. RSS
