Nepali Society Texas distributes blankets to quake-hit families

America / January 6: The Nepali Society Texas, America, has distributed blankets to 816 families of Baramchi VDC in Sindhupalchowk district.

The Society distributed the blankets to the quake survivors through comedians– Sitaram Kattel and Kunjana Ghimire in view of the quake survivors having hard time due to the increasing cold.

Similarly, blankets would be provided to the quake survivors of Charikot in Dolakha district today while those from Langtang area displaced by avalanche, who are taking shelter at Betrawati in Nuwakot district, would be provided the blankets next week, it is learnt.

The organisation has set a target to distribute 5,000 blankets and has already distributed 1,000 blankets. Society Chairman Krishna Lamichhane said that financial support has been collected in Texas to buy more than 3,500 blankets.

The Society under the slogan, ‘ One blanket – one person’ has accelerated the distribution of support through its Nepal representative Madhu Adhikari. RSS
