Construction process of big hydel power projects speeding up – IBN

hydropower projectKathmandu, Jan 8: The process to construct big hydropower projects like the West Seti, Arun III, Upper Tamakoshi and Upper Karnali, what could be milestone projects in coping with country’s energy crisis is speeding up so as to complete them in time, said Investment Board Nepal (IBN).

At a press conference in the Capital today, IBN chief executive officer Radhesh Panta informed that an agreement was reached to contract the construction of the entry road to 900 megawatts Arun III and that the process of distributing shares of 750 megawatts Western Seti was underway.

Likewise, he said that construction of 650 megawatts Tamakoshi III is underway.

The IBN meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had decided to complete big hydropower projects in time. RSS
