Quake-survivors given cash for warm clothes

Palpa / January 12: The quake-affected people in Tansen Municipality whose houses were completely destroyed from the April 25 earthquake have been provided with Rs 10,000 meant for purchasing the warm clothes.

Executive Officer of the municipality, Anil Poudel, distributed Rs 10,000 each to 41 households recently.

Distributing the amount to the quake-survivors, Poudel asked the folks to properly utilise the amount doled out from the state coffer.

Earlier, the residents of the municipality affected from the April 25 quake were provided with Rs 15,000 for managing tarps and corrugated roofing sheets, the municipality said.

However, a total of 18 quake-affected families from the May 12 aftershock have complained for not getting anything from the government so far.

The municipality officials said that no relief amount was received from the central level to those affected from the May 12 aftershock due to some unfinished procedures. RSS
