EU to support for Nepal’s poverty alleviation

EU flagKathmandu / January 15: The European Union (EU) has said that it has accorded priority for Nepal’s poverty reduction by conducting more projects in Nepal for income generation.

At a programme organised in the capital city on Friday, Ambassador of EU to Nepal Rensje Teerink said that EU would focus on capacity building projects for poverty reduction in Nepal’s rural areas under the programme of assistance for trade. Saying that EU was committed to supporting Nepal’s socio-economic development, Rensje also announced to provide technical assistance for operating the programmes for poverty alleviation.

Terming the promulgation of new constitution in Nepal as historic achievement, the EU Ambassador expressed the hope that Nepal’s political leadership would resolve the existing political complexities. RSS
