Agriculture fair in remote Parbat village

parbat_districtParbat / January 16: An agricultural fair has begun in Ranipani VDC in the southern belt of Parbat district on Friday has witnessed a large number of visitors.

The folks from Ranipani, Barrachaur, Shaligram, Urampokhara, Hoshrangdi and other VDCs have visited the event for the sale of their agricultural products and to purchase the needed goods that are available in the three-day-long fair. Over 20,000 locals are expected to benefit from the fair, it is said.

The fair organised by the Namuna Agriculture Cooperative has aimed at promoting the sales of the seasonal and non-seasonal agricultural commodities produced in the local areas.

Likewise, the Agricultural Development Office, Parbat, has also distributed the seeds for free to the farmers as well as the technicians conducted the tests of the crops.

Senior Agricultural Development Officer Basudev Regmi said that some 400 farmers were provided with vegetables seeds on Friday.

Coordinator of the fair organising committee, Ram Prasad Parajuli, said that more than three dozen stalls of locally produced agricultural goods including of coffee, tomato, beans, cauliflower, cabbage, chilly, papaya, orange, lemon, pumpkin and others are kept in the festival.

Besides the agricultural products, the national-level folk singers and artists have performed different cultural shows. RSS
