New strategy for commercialisation of agriculture

agricultureChitwan / January 18: Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture Development Uttam Kumar Bhattarai has said that new strategy would be implemented from the next fiscal year for the commercial development of agriculture sector.

Releasing the Beekeeping Directory prepared by Federation of Nepal Beekeepers’ in Chitwan on Sunday, Secretary Bhattarai said that preparations were going on to bring the new strategy, internalising the 27-point commitment unveiled by the ministry.

He further said that the upcoming strategy would focus on the development of agriculture technology and commercial farming system, effective launching of the grants programmes for agri-business promotion, monitoring of the agriculture programmes in the districts and others.

During the programme, chairman of Federation Rajendra Gautam said that lack of pastureland and increased use of pesticide are the major problems beekeepers facing. RSS
