Cabinet passes Post-quake Reconstruction Work Procedure

Kathmandu / March 2: The government has approved different guidelines and the work procedure related to land acquisition and reconstruction.

Today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers approved the work procedure prepared by the National Reconstruction Authority, said Spokesperson of the government and Minister for Information and Communications, Sherdhan Rai.

Similarly, the meeting also appointed three consulate generals to the vacant posts.

They are Joint-Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Communications, Ek Narayan Aryal for Kolkata, Joint-Secretary at the Tourism Ministry, Govinda Karki, for Lhasa and Joint-Secretary at the General Administration Ministry, Kamal Bhattarai, for Hong Kong.

The government has also appointed Chintamani Siwakoti and Shivaraj Shrestha as Deputy Governors at the Nepal Rastra Bank.

Likewise, the meeting also appointed former chairperson of the All Nepal National Free Students Union, Madhav Dhungel, as vice-chairman of the National Youth Council. The Council would work for the implementation of the National Youth Policy.

The government has decided to declare other 22 different people including those who lost their lives in course of Sukhani movement in Jhapa as martyrs, respecting their contribution.

The new martyrs are Bhimdutta Panta (Dadeldhura), Durgananda Jha (Dhanusha), Shumsher Bahadur Khatri (Gulmi), Ramnath Dahal (Jhapa), Netra Ghimire (Jhapa), Biren Rajbanshi (Jhapa), Krishna Kuinkel (Jhapa), Narayan Prasad Shrestha (Jhapa), Rishi Devkota ‘Aajad’ (Sindhuli), Captain Yagya Bahadur Thapa (Okhaldhunga), Bhim Narayan Shrestha (Dhankuta), Ram Upadhyay (Siraha), Laxman Upadhyay (Siraha), Leelanath Dahal (Okhaldhunga), Khagendra Raj Dahal (Okhaldhunga), Gokarna Bahadur Karki (Okhaldhunga), Ratna Bantawa (Ilam), Suryanath Yadav (Siraha), Hari Nepal (Taplejung), Chandra Bahadur Puri (Sankhuwasabha) and Chandra Dangi (Jhapa).

Similarly, a committee has been formed comprising Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense, Bhim Bahadur Rawal, Deputy prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Chitra Bahadur KC, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Shakti Bahadur Basnet and Minister for Irrigation, Umesh Yadav, to give suggestion regarding declaring those, who lost their lives at different places including Timburbote and Chhintang, as martyrs, added Minister Rai.
